The territory of Piedmont, the area of the Langhe, a UNESCO world heritage site, is a land that offers breathtaking views, DOC and DOCG wines and excellent white truffles.
the velvety hills, the cobblestone streets and the irregular roofs, arranged according to the ancient medieval layout, would be enough to make La Morra a picturesque location, guardian of fascinating traditions and timeless architectural beauties, immersed in a generous landscape. Yet the citadel, set in the Piedmontese countryside in the province of Cuneo, populated by less than three thousand inhabitants, manages to give much more: the wealth of the village is in fact mainly due to the so-called “red gold”, which is born on the vineyards that cover the hills of La Morra.
The Morra Helicopter Tour & Truffle Hunting Experience is the only private activity to discover all the beauties of the place to be able to admire the landscape of La Morra from miles away, on a helicopter, Barolo wine tasting and truffle hunting in the woods of La Morra.

Initially you will meet with your guide, an expert truffle hunter who will briefly explain your hunting adventure. You will also be accompanied by the faithful dog that will be fundamental for the research.
Truffle hunting in Piedmont consists of a walk in the woods for about two hours, during which you will accompany the dog to sniff near the bushes or plant roots. It will be him to show you where the truffles are.
When the dog finally begins to sniff eagerly and dig in the ground, you can continue digging to extract the truffle from the ground, very carefully and gently.
At the end of the two hours of hunting you can return to the starting point with a nice booty and with a wide knowledge of truffle hunting. Furthermore, your “trifolao” will be happy to advise you on how to eat truffles.
After the first truffle hunting experience in La Morra, you can head to the helicopter departure base a few kilometers from the woods. Here you can get on the helicopter, where an expert pilot will take you hundreds of meters above the ground to see the whole area of Barolo. From there you can see the majestic hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site, expanses of vineyards, fields of hazelnuts and mysterious woods where the prized truffles are hidden.
After the magnificent helicopter tour in La Morra you can visit a winery where Barolo wine is produced and find out how Nebbiolo grapes are transformed into fine wine. Also at the end of the visit you will have the chance to taste the wine, tasting it with typical local products.
We spent a whole day at La Morra and practiced all three activities, the most interesting and fun truffle hunting. It was great to look for truffles with Marco, our trifolao and his beautiful dog! After the hunt, we took the helicopter a short distance from the woods. We flew over magnificent territories, with breathtaking views !! Finally during the visit to the winery they explained how Barolo is produced and we tasted it together with exquisite products of Italian and Piedmontese cuisine.
